In the fall of 2020, Pastor and Mrs. Young followed God's call to move to Bowling Green, Kentucky, and establish a Bible-believing, local New Testament church. When the Youngs moved to Warren County in September of 2020, they did not know anyone. As they worked to establish a Bible-believing, local New Testament church, they planned to begin holding Sunday services in a conference room at the Sloan Convention Center and Wednesday Bible studies in the garage of the home they were renting in town. For several weeks they knocked on doors, shared the Gospel, and invited folks to join them for their "Grand Opening" service later that fall. They simply did their part and trusted God to do His - and, in a wonderful way, He did!

Within two weeks of the "Grand Opening" Sunday for LBC, the Lord allowed Pastor and Mrs. Young to meet Bro. Jr. and Mrs. Patty Sledge who were longstanding members of the Glen Lily Baptist Church, which had been established in 1923. Because of the outbreak of COVID-19 and the retirement of their former pastor, the church had closed its doors. Through a series of events in which God clearly had a hand, the Youngs were introduced to a handful of folks who made up the church's remaining membership. They had been attending other churches since theirs shut down 9 months earlier. After a season of prayer, the Lord knit the hearts of the people with Pastor and Mrs. Young, and they decided to merge the two churches into what is now Liberty Baptist Church at Glen Lily.

To God be the glory, since that time the Lord has continued to work through the His church to see many precious souls come to Christ, follow His example in Believer's baptism, and grow in their Christian lives through the preaching and teaching of God's Word. A steady stream of new visitors and families have come to see what God is doing at Liberty Baptist Church. Through the sacrifice, prayers, and giving of God's people, the buildings (which turned 100 years old in 2023) have been remodeled and updated, a church bus and van have been purchased to provide weekly transportation for adults, teens, and children to the services. Children's Sunday school, VBS, youth activities, and an organized nursery department have been added to the programs of the church, along with multiple visitation and gospel outreach opportunities throughout the week. Since 2021 the Lord has also allowed the church to host "The Voice of Liberty Broadcast" (a weekly radio show and internet podcast). Many of the Bible studies and sermon series taught at LBC have been been compiled, edited, and published as helpful Christian resources through 4HisGloryPublications (digital copies of several of these resources are available free of charge to help believers grow in their faith).

We believe that the best and most exciting years are ahead for Liberty Baptist Church! Our desire is for God to use our church to help reach our community and world for Christ through the preaching, teaching, and propagating of the Word of God. Mark 16:15 "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." For everything God has done and will continue to do, we give Him all the glory and praise! Psalm 118:23 "This is the Lord's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes."
